It's been interesting these last couple weeks. We have been told that we will fall into one of 3 buckets: Laid off, transition employee (where we will get double our salary as we work towards merging systems), and the last bucket a JP Morgan Chase employee. Last week we had a town hall meeting with JP Morgan Chase executives, where one of them announced to the hundred or so of us who were in attendance that "The lions share of you will not have positions at the company." The people around me have been interviewing with JP Morgan Chase this past week and next...
...It turned out that my team is not under this group at Chase, and we have our counterparts flying down next week.

December 1st is the day they will announce things. In the worse case scenario I will get 60 days notice - and then I have 18 week severance.
Holy cow! I am so sorry that you and your family have to go through this! We will pray for you and I know you will find exactly what you are looking for!
