Camping with friends

Getting ready to Geo Cache

For the 4th of July weekend we went camping with our friends-the Renschler's and the Labusky's. I worried a lot about this trip (no hook ups, pit toilets and a teenage niece who does not like camping). The trip turned out great-I think Hunter might even kind of like camping now-maybe? We went to Baker Lake by Mt. Baker. We lucked out and had great weather out first day and rain only on part of the second day. The kids swam in the lake, had a egg relay race, pie eating contest, 3 legged race and got to go geo caching. Hunter was such a good sport and entertained the kids a lot-plus she decided to go with out her cell phone!! I was so impressed with her attitude and the other parents were as well-they all commented on what a great kid she is.

I found the geo cache!!

We got back from our trip in time to celebrate the 4th of July Washington style. Which means FIREWORKS-everyone in the neighborhood launches them-it is really crazy seeing large fireworks in the sky above your house. Hunter was quite surprised we could have these in our neighborhood. It was shocking to us the first time when we moved here as well-coming from CA where you could not even have sparklers.

This firework was one street over

Making shadows with the bright light fireworks.
