Jake turns 9

My baby boy is growing up. He turned 9 last week-even though we tried to tell him we were not going to let him get any older. Jake choose to go to Red Lobster for his birthday(he loves shrimp-I do too). For his party he decided to have a Wii Mario Bros party. He wanted this mushroom cake that we saw in a party catalog-I was not going to do it until the morning of his party I thought OK I can make this. I think it turned out great for not much planning. The party was great the boys played video games and for once I really had nothing to do (no crafts or activities to supervise).Jenna was at her best friends birthday party-so she missed the whole thing. For his birthday he got a lot of legos and K'nex-which he built all of them by himself-he doesn't even want help (He just screams a few times when he gets frustrated)

Jake always has the neatest cakes for his birthday-he always requests something unique-I wonder what it will be next year.

Jake asked for a giant cookie cake for his actual birthday-Jenna insisted on decorating it herslef. I think she did a fabulous job! The cookie cake was a big hit-much better than regular cake (I am not much of a cake fan)

George thought of the idea to give all the boys Luigi mustaches made out of electrical tape. They were all good sports about it.

I had to throw in some pictures of my tulips-although the pictures are not very good. These tulips were amazing-they were giant!!! One was bigger than my whole hand. Jenna took one to school for her teacher and everyone thought it was fake.THe palnts are so tall they come up to my hips. I will have to get some better pictures.
