First day of school

This week we headed back to school on Wednesday. How can it be that Jenna is starting 5th Grade and Jake 4th. Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday they were starting kindergarten.  Luckily, Jenna got the teacher we were hoping for and to make it even better her 2 BFF's were in the class with her (not to mention almost all of her girl scout troop). Jake got a great teacher as well, but only got one of his good friends in his class.

George took the kids to school that day since that was also my first day back to work. This year my classroom got a new teacher-so I had a little anxiety about that until I met her. She seems great and I can't wait to see all the ideas she has to offer.

Unfortunately, our day did not end all that well. While I was with Jenna at dance class, George's sister called to let him know that his brother had died. We had not spoken with him in years because of the way he had chosen to live his life. We had held out hope that he would change his life around but that did not happen.
