Christmas Day

Image
We had a great white Christmas. Jenna and Jake were spoiled by everyone. Santa brought Jenna a keyboard and a Tini Puppini that she wanted so bad. Santa brought Jake marble Mania. He absolutely loved it and watched the marbles for hours. Grandma and Grandpa spoiled them and gave them a Wii. Their first video game system. We felt spoiled just by having family here for Christmas. We had a great time watching our family in Texas open their presents on the web cam. George's mom also spoiled them giving them clothes and toys. We had a great Christmas! Even Grandma and Grandpa managed to have some fun! Though they kept complaining about Washington, and talked about wanting to be back in Texas.

A white Christmas! More and more snow!

Image
This year Christmas was quite different. A week before Christmas it started snowing and snowing and snowing! We had 3 days of school canceled along with 2 late starts. When we thought we couldn't possibly get more snow we did. We had a little over 2 feet of snow and it's still snowing here-a record for our area. With all of the snow that was forecast we advised my parents that if they planned on spending Christmas with us they better come-so on the Saturday before Christmas they came to stay with us along with George's mom. We had a lot of together time-mom and me did 3 puzzles in just a few days. George had to work from home since the roads here are not safe to drive on because they don't treat all of the roads and most people don't have chains or snow tires. We all felt a little trapped but did manage to get out a couple of times-luckily Dad has a big truck and George a 4 runner. Our street is completely white with no sign of asphalt anywhere. Georg...

Christmas Greetings

Here is our latest Christmas greetings! And another one!

Snow day!

Image
Today we had a snow day and school was cancelled. So we spent the day making chocolate dipped pretzels and toffee with Jake and Jenna's friend Jennifer. Then they decided to make a snowman at the bottom of the hill and roll the snow balls up to the top. It's supposed to snow more today so we may not have school again tomorrow. Snow is fun!!!

Christmas trees, Stitches and the Great wolf Lodge

Image
We did quite a lot this weekend. We got our tree and decorated it. The next day we visited with Santa and then Jenna and I went to a craft party. During the party I get a call from George that he needs to go to the Doctor for stitches-he stepped on a rake and got hit in the face. He ended up with 3 stitches. Then we went to the Great Wolf Lodge and had a great time in the waterpark and playing Magic Quest. Jake saved us by slaying the dragon. Overall it was a pretty busy weekend.

Thanksgiving

Image
We had a great Thanksgiving. It was so wonderful having my parents and George's mom here to share it with. We had a great dinner-even though the turkey took longer than expected and the Jello-mold did not set and the pecan pie was a little runny. But it was delicious all the same. After dinner we went to the movies to see Bolt and came home to watch Survivor. It was a good day-one that we will cherish since it will probably be a long time before we have people over on Thanksgiving again. Then instead of shopping on Black Friday George decided to take the kids to the Macy's Christmas parade in Seattle. I opted out and did a little shopping and enjoyed the quiet time.

Scout Cake Bake

Image
Last night we went to the Boy Scout cake auction. The dads and boys had to create, bake and decorate the cakes by themselves. George and Jake made the Jake's Fake Snake cake and won an award for creative cake name.

I've Been Picked

I've been picked Jen over at The Stewart Stuff and Kelly at the Many sides of the Wadkins picked me to tell 7 random things about myself. Here it goes: 1. I have had some of the weirdest jobs. I worked at mortuary when I was in High School at night all by myself, I used to drag baseball fields and locking up all the buildings at night for the City of Norco, I ran a summer day camp program, I worked with crazy institutionalized kids after college. But my favorite was working at the convenience store with Kelly, who would think you could have so much fun selling gas and hot dogs. 2. I was in choir in High school but I never really sang I just lip synced. I would ditch class on the days we would have to do a solo in front of the class. 3. George and I used to go every Friday night for date night at Costco for pizza. I told him I was pregnant with Jenna there. 4. I absolutely hate to cook. 5. I won the home economics student of the year award in High School. 6. My dream car used to be...
