Christmas 2013

Image
We had a fun, quiet Christmas at home.  Our tree and lots of presents  Christmas Eve  Jake got a surprise Archie McPhee gift bag-these were some of the treasures that were in it. I think the favorite was the inflatable meatloaf.  That's one giant Rice Crispy treat. One of Jenna's favorite gifts was this dress and shoes.

Christmas lights

Last night we went to check out some Christmas Lights. It sprinkled almost the whole time we were there but we still had a great time. At least it was warmer than the previous weekend.

Oh Christmas Tree

We had a very busy weekend with Christmas activities but we managed to get our tree up.

October

So much time has gone by since I last blogged (forgot the blog password and kept forgetting to ask George what it was). We have had some pretty busy times. My parents were here visiting for 2 weeks and headed home a few days ago. We had some great times seeing sights in the area that we had not been to before.   Eating Gyro's in Seattle-they are the best.  We took a tour of a Seattle Chocolate factory and had lots of fun trying all the chocolate samples.  While finding our way to the Theo Chocolate Factory we found the Freemont Troll We also went to a kangaroo farm-the was pretty fun. It was neat to be able to pet the kangaroo's and feed feed Llama and alpacas. We also went to Fort Casey on Whidbey Island. It was used during World War I. What a view! Ok who could forget about Halloween  Jake was some scary creature Jenna was an evil fairy (recycling one of dance costumes)

July and August

Image
We have had a pretty low key summer so far. Things are starting to pick up and August is starting to go by too fast, before I know it we will be back in school. In the last couple of weeks we celebrated George's and my birthday.  Jenna went to girls camp and had a blast-sounds like this place is pretty amazing. Jake left for Scout camp last Saturday and we are anxiously awaiting for him to come home tomorrow.  Jake's troop ready to leave.  Here is a picture of their scout camp on the Oregon coast.  This week Jenna got her first pair of Pointe Ballet shoes and she had her first class.  Not to most comfortable shoes but they sure look pretty on. She came out of the class with a giant smile saying of how it hurt but it was worth it.

Daddy Daughter Weekend

Image
George and Jenna headed out for a weekend of fun adventures. First stop was the 50's Diner with some outside dining, where a friendly chicken decided to have dinner with them. Then they went miniature golfing. The next morning they went for a hour horseback back ride followed by a trip to the candy store.

Mud Run

Image
Last weekend we did our first mud run (well I really should call it a mud walk). We had such a great time, lots of laughs and lots of MUD!!  Our mud run turned into a mud fight!

The Rootbeer Store

Image
This past weekend I took Jake out for some one on one time. We went to The Rootbeer Store. It is a small store that has over 100 types of rootbeer, plus they had some other flavored sodas that looked yummy and some that did not seem so great (Dog Drool, Sewer Water). We had a coupon for Jake to get 5 rootbeers and some other treats including rootbeer flavored popcorn and taffy.   Jake is going to collect the bottle caps and give each rootbeer a rating.  This Rocket Fizz only got a 2 out of 5. It was a fun store, we can't wait to go back again and try some other rootbeers.

Braces

Jenna got braces yesterday!   BEFORE AFTER!

Recital Time

Image
This weekend was Jenna's dance recital. She was in 3 different dances-ballet, lyrical and acro/tumbling. It was a fun but long weekend for her. There was 3 shows, so she was there on Friday night and all day Saturday. I just love watching her dance and seeing all of the amazing costumes.  This costume was her her acro dance. They did a Can Can dance, which was lots of fun. Ballet costume

Last day parade

Totem Falls traditional last day of school parade! The last one my kids will participate in, luckily since I work at the school I will get to continue participating. I took a few pictures of Jake and his friends but walked with my first grade class. I will really  miss this class but look forward to seeing which students will be in the second grade class I work in next year.  My student, Mia, that I work with along with my co-worker Leslie who I job share with.   PARTY TIME!
