Good Bye

Well my parents have finished their mission and headed back to Texas on Tuesday. We will miss having them here. It was so nice to have family here to celebrate holidays with-now we go back to just us again. It has been such a great experience for Jake and Jenna to get to know their grandparents. We will really miss our Sunday dinners with them. Hopefully we will get to visit them often. This week has been extremely hot here in WA. So much for our always cool weather-I could use some rain now. We have broken all the records (over 100 in Seattle-hotter here in Snohomish)-which may not sound that bad for those in CA, TX and AZ but homes here are not built with air conditioners so that makes for some pretty miserable days and nights. We have gone to sleeping in the living room for the last few days since its much cooler downstairs. We decided to look at Sear's last night for a fan or A/C only to find there was about 100 people already in line. Well here's to hoping that the weather...

Twilight vampires!!

We survived our trip to Forks, WA. It was very warm and sunny so we did not have any vampire sightings. It was amazing how many Twilight tourists there were in Forks. The locals seemed to embrace all this fame Twilight has brought to their community. Grandpa was a good sport about all of it, Jake was not too pleased by the trip. Here are some pictures from our trip-my parents have the rest Bella's House with the fake Edward that some other fans let us use for the picture. Bella's Truck

Seafair Triathlon

Today George and Jake competed in their first triathlon of the season. There were over 1500 competitors in the race. George placed 72nd overall and 4th in his age group. Pretty good after having a calf injury earlier in the year. I was so proud of Jake for deciding to do the triathlon even though Jenna was not going to do it. He did great of course and passed a lot of kids during the run.

Daughtry in Seattle

Last night was one of the best nights ever. What could be more cool than going to a rock concert with your mom? We stood in line for about 2 1/2 hours just to get in-it was a free concert. Then we had to stand waiting for another hour or so before Daughtry even came out. It was so worth it. We were up close to the stage in the mosh pit area. We were screaming and yelling and having a great time. At the end of the concert Daughtry reached over to the audience and grabbed my hand-it was great. (I will never wash my hand again-LOL). I had a such a great time I did not even realize until we were almost home that some how I hurt my toe. It's probably not a good idea to wear flip flops in the mosh pit area. We came home and recorded the Jimmy Kimmel (They recorded Daughtry for that nights show) and sure enough at the very end they had a close up of my mom and I. I will have to figure out how to put it on here. All I have to say is my mom is so awesome, I am so lucky to have all this time...

California Vacation

We had a quick and very busy trip to Cali. On our trip we visited friends and family and went to Sea World and Universal Studios. Here in WA there are not many food choices so we had a total junk food binge and it was so good!!! Lots of donuts and frozen yogurt! Of Course In-Out-Burger. We had one short day at Huntington Beach before spending July 4th in San Diego. We really enjoyed Universal Studios. The new Simpsons ride was a lot of fun and I enjoyed Jurassic Park even though I got completely soaked. Well that has how the whole trip was-if there was water some how I got soaked every time. George did a 5K and 1 mile swim in Coronado before we headed to Sea World. He placed 4th for his age group in the swim.
