Snohomish

Image
Yesterday we decided to enjoy the sunny (but not warm) day by going for a walk on the Snohomish River trail. We have lived here for over 5 years and never walked along this trail, which is probably only a 1/4 mile from my work. The trail was not very long so we went a little off and walked along the river. We were looking at one of the bridges that crosses over the river. It is an old train bridge that was built in the late 1800's.It was really quite neat. I wished I had brought my camera-we could have taken some neat pictures. These pictures here I found online. The city was founded in 1858. There is a lot of neat old homes here and lots of history. I think I am going to take more time to find out about this city I live in. I drive past this house every day to work-it's for sale. I want it, other than it would needs way too much $$$$ to make it livable. It was built in 1922.

Valentines

We had a simple Valentines dinner at home. I picked up a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's and then we had strawberry shortcake for dessert. Jenna did a great job setting the table.

Two weeks ago Jenna tried out for 5th grade honor choir. First of all, I was so completely shocked that my SHY, SHY Jenna said she was going to do this. She is so shy, that her teacher last year, asked me if she was selectively mute. We knew they were picking 8 kids to be in it and 15 tried out. She had to audition singing the Star Spangled Banner, not an easy song to sing. I was not so sure how she would do (if she would sing loud enough to even be heard). She has anxiously been waiting to find out. Yesterday, she found out she made it and so did 2 of her BFF's.  I am so happy for her for just trying. I am so excited to see the choir sing, practices start next week.

Puzzling Puzzle

Image
So this past weekend I decided I was going to start the Harry Potter puzzle that George and the kids gave me for Christmas.I usually enjoy puzzles but I found this puzzle to be frustrating. I am not sure if it was because a lot of the colors were too similar of maybe I was just not in the right frame of mind to be working on it. I would sit and stare at the puzzle for what seemed like hours and not get any pieces. Jenna would come in and go "I found a piece" in like 30 seconds. Well I am happy to have it finished.  Even the cat was tired of me doing the puzzle and was wanting some attention.  While Jenna and I worked on the puzzle Jake took on his own task. He had been saving his money to buy this Lego set  (his biggest one so far). So he worked on it, little bits at a time, all weekend.
