Monthly update

Grandma with Jake and Jenna leaving for the airport. This past month has been a little crazy. Last month George's sister Barbara passed away-taking him on a trip to Colorado with his mom. They got to have a small family reunion and see people they had not seen in years. From there George's mom headed back home to live in CA. She was hoping it would be warmer there-I don't think she has had much luck with that. We will all miss her living with us. Even Harley our dog goes in her room looking for her. Jenna and Jake also started back swimming-Jenna on a team and Jake taking lessons and learning really quickly. Last week while we were at swimming our crazy dog decided to eat a half a bag of chocolate chips which lead to a very miserable night for all of us. He was completely wired on chocolate. Flooding and Happy Birthday

Yesterday was quite an adventure. It was Jenna's 9th Birthday. Prior to celebrating her birthday I had to go to work. On the way to work I could see the Snohomish River overflowing its banks. I had to take a minor detour to get to the school. We had only been at work for about an hour when we heard the police were thinking of closing the main road out of town (my way home). We had to call the parents to come get their kids. By the time I left work the road was closed and I had to take a 45 minute detour home. Here is a picture of one of the valleys that flooded from the Snohomish River(by Ebey Island)-normally there would be no water here.I took this picture while sitting in traffic to get out of Snohomish. After getting the kids we went to the mall and took Jenna and her friend to Libby lou for their birthdays. They had a great time even though the store was almost completely empty since they are going out of business. Then we went to Applebee's for dinner and had cake at home...
