Getting Ready for Halloween

Image
Wow it's already time to get the Halloween decorations out! Some times I wonder why on earth we have so many Halloween decorations-we have as much Halloween decorations as we do Christmas stuff. Each year we have a Halloween party and a spooky haunted yard. George loves to scare all of the neighborhood kids. Last year I said there was no way I was going to have a party this year but once again here I am planning it. How could we not have a party? The neighbors this year are putting the pressure on us to have a even bigger haunted yard. They say every year we make it bigger and better-that's a lot to live up to. George already has lots of plans but for now we will work on getting the decorations out.

This past Thursday...

This past Thursday I went to work for one company and came home that evening working for another one. It's been interesting these past 6 and half years working for WaMu, I have gotten to do some pretty cool stuff. I now work for JP Morgan Chase and for the short-term its business as usual. Now I get to spend time second guessing myself should I start looking for another job or do I see what happens in the next coming months as they begin merging and consolidating backoffice operations. Oh well, we will see what happens next. Here is a good link that describes what happened. WaMu's desperate last days

Fun Times

Jake and Jenna had their first soccer game. For this being Jake's first time playing he did a great job and almost scored. I am so proud of him for trying soccer, since he does not like trying new things. We went out to eat with mom and dad to XXX Burger and Dad had to get the XXX burger! He did a pretty good job on it and almost ate the whole thing! We visited Snoqualmie Falls-although in this picture you can't see the falls. George's last Triathlon of the season. He did well but not as good as usual-he said he was not feeling that great. But I am proud of him anyways.

Back to School

The kids had their first day back to school yesterday! We are excited about Jake getting the same teacher Jenna had last year. Jenna is in a 2/3 combo class which we are not so sure about-so we will see how that works out. I also started back to work yesterday-but we don't get kids until next week.

Orcas Island

Image
For Labor Day Weekend we went camping on Orcas Island. On the Island we went hiking along the beach and saw lots of neat things-starfish, crabs and a large jellyfish. We also went geo-caching and found some treasures. The kids also hand fed some deers, what a treat that was for them. Orcas Island is really beautiful. George participated in a wacky triathlon or as some like to call it "The Island Style". I have never seen a triathlon done quite this way. George did great as usual-placing 4th overall and was the second one out of the water on the swim.
