This week we got a great treat of having my grandpa and Fran come to visit us. It was a short visit but it was so great to see them-it has been about 5 years. We also dog sat for them the kids loved taking care of Sammy and Princess. We also spent Wednesday evening at the first all comers track meet of the year. The kids ran the 50 and 100. The did long jump and the turbo javelin (a little plastic one). I threw the discus.

For Memorial day weekend we headed north to the North Cascades for our first camp trip of the year. It is a beautiful place to visit. We spent 3 nights at the campground. Saw a lot of waterfalls and went on a few nature walks. We saw this Black Bear right on the side of the road. we turned around so we could get some pictures of it. Jake and Jenna were each assigned a day to plan the menu and activities. Jake decided to make cheesy eggs for breakfast. They were great. This is Jake and Jenna getting their Jr. Ranger badges from the park rangers. They worked hard on all the tasks they needed to do to earn their badges

On Mother's day I saw this swing on sale for a good price and thought it would be nice to have-since we don't have any patio furniture. The kids and I put it together on Friday after school. It is so relaxing to swing outside (since the weather has been nice). Jenna sat out on the swing yesterday for an hour reading her book. I think this is going to be well used this summer.

BEFORE So many times I ask Jenna if she wants to get her hair cut the answer is always no! If I am lucky she will say "just like 1 inch." With all the swimming she does her hair is always a tangled mess. Yesterday morning while we were combing out her hair once again I asked about her cutting her hair but to my surprise she said yes that she would cut it to her shoulders. I immediately made a hair appt for her before she changed her mind. She loves her new hair cut. These pictures where taken when we got home. They had curled it but it was raining outside so its kind of messy but still cute. AFTER We are also currently waiting for our new baby pug! The breeder sent us a few pictures, they were too cute I had to share one. We should be getting her sometime in June-we are thinking of naming her Lily. Not sure which one she is in the picture.

For Mother's Day the kids decided they wanted to surprise me and take me out to breakfast to IHOP. Jenna insisted that I be blindfolded-so she covered my sunglasses with paper. Breakfast was delicious even though Jake was acting quite bratty. We headed home after that and waited for Grandma and Grandpa to come over. I made sure to really enjoy this mother's day with my mom since next year she will be back in Texas-so sad!! Today we decided to get pedicures and manicures after my trip to the chiropractor. I hurt my back this week and ended up not working the whole week. So I am hoping the chiropractor can help me out. I am so thankful for my kids on this Mother's day. They are truly the best and bring me so much joy!
