Dance Recital week

Image
This week was Jenna's first dance recital. She had taken ballet when she was a preschooler and jazz in first grade but after a couple of months always decided she did not want to do it any more. This year was different, after watching So You Think You Can Dance last summer she decided she wanted to give dance a try. I signed her up for jazz in September and a month later she asked if she could take ballet also. So she began ballet lessons too. Well apparently starting dance at 9/10 years old is late in the dance world so she was in a begginers ballet class with much younger girls-but she loved it any way. Luckily for her jazz class 2 of her school friends signed up for the same class-so there were other girls her age. All this dance stuff was new to me-4 hour dance rehearsal, putting makeup on her, fake eyelashes, costume and hair changes during the recital. It was lots of fun seeing her all dressed up. She was not so sure about the fake eyelashes though. After the recital her ball...

Summer time

Image
Ok well it's supposed to be summer time. The weather here apparently does not know that though. It just keeps on raining. Today was the last day of school and officially the first day of summer-so OK where is it??? We did get lucky though and not have any rain for our last day of school parade. It's a great tradition that Totem Falls has. Here our some pictures. Jake and his best buddies-Drew, Alex and Liam Jake sure makes everyone else look short. Jenna and her friend Emma Jake's class banner Jenna and some of the best girls at Totem Falls! I could not ask for better friends for her. We spent the last day of school with a trip to the principals office (luckily Jake was not the one in trouble), a trip to McDonalds with my great work friends, a trip to the gym for a short work out, a pizza and brownie sundae party at home and the cartoon buddies assembled to watch Avatar. Now I am off to go watch bad reality TV (the Bachelorette-which I always swear I am never going to w...

Weekend Portland Trip

Image
A few weekends ago we took a little weekend trip to Portland. We have driven through there but never spent any time seeing what Portland had to offer. It was an interesting weekend. We went to the Museum of Science and Industry-it was a great museum, we just wish we had a little more time to see everything there. We went on a tour of the submarine-that was pretty cool. George and Jenna in command of the submarine. One of the things on our to do list in Portland was to go to VooDoo Donuts. We saw it on the Food Channel and we love donuts so it was a must see. The variety of donuts they offered was quite amazing. George decided we needed to get 16 different donuts (for just the 4 of us!). We tried all different kinds-donuts dipped in coco puffs, fruit loops, fun dip (yes that was actually pretty good)-just to name a few of them. But I think Jake's donut was the funnest-his was the VooDoo doll donut-filled with red cream and stuck in the chest with a pretzel. Picture of some o...

Finally blogging

Ok quite some time has gone by since I have blogged. Well it is no fun to blog with out pictures (got a new computer and for some reason can not get pictures on to it). So this blog has no pictures. This last couple of months has consisted of getting a new washing machine, new mattress, new computer, taking care of sick cat, then taking dog with bad knee to vet-to find out she also has hip dysplasia, getting passports for all of us. All adding up to broke pocketbook. I also had an MRI done on my neck to figure out why I have this annoying arm pain-nothing showed up so DR sent me to a physical therapist which seems to be helping. Not much fun stuff to blog about. George has been training for Ironman Canada that will be in August-so very time consuming. Running 16 miles on Saturdays, Riding bike 4+ hours on Sunday-plus all his week day training. We will be heading to Canada in July so he can train on the Ironman course before his race. All that on top of starting his new job at Disney. A...
