More of our summer adventures with my parents.  Here are our glass creations from our glass blowing.  We went crabbing on day and caught several crabs-only one was a keeper though. We were excited about cooking our first crab ever. It was yummy!  We also spent a day in Seattle at Pike's Place  Mom in line to get her favorite piroskys. We can't leave Pike's with out getting amazing flowers for so cheap-$15 for this giant bouquet.

Several years ago we went camping at Kayak Point, while we were there we saw people crabbing from the pier. Ever since then I have wanted to try crabbing. This year for my birthday my parents bought me a crab pot-yippeee!! Today we headed out to have a try at crabbing off the pier. We had a great time. We caught several crabs, although none of them were big enough to keep (one was just a tiny bit too small). We will go again in a couple of days and take my parents, hopefully this time we will get some we can bring home to cook.  Jake and I trying to untangle our rope.  Waiting  Our first crab pot-we were thrilled to have crabs in it.  See this one was almost big enough!  Jake decided to try clamming and he kept reaching down into the sand and pulling out big clams, but we can not keep those.

The last time my parents were here visiting we saw a a groupon for glass blowing, we all said we would like to do try it out. We made sure to schedule it into their visit this year. We got to pick out a project that we wanted to do and help assist a professional to make our project.  This was George's project.  Mom making her ornament.  Outside of the glass blowing place was all these great graffiti walls.  I think we all had a great time and we are anxiously awaiting picking up our completed items (apparently they have to cool off).  Jake left for Boy Scout camp this week-we miss him already.

The kids and I were lucky enough to take a short trip to CA. We were able to take my parents to Disneyland and California Adventure, nothing like having free Disney tickets.  Even though we arrived at Disney in the afternoon we were able to get quite a few rides in and then the next day we headed to CA Adventure.  Luigi's tires one of the worst rides at CA Adventure but we had to take Grandma and Grandpa on it along with Heimlich's Choo Choo train (definitely the worst Disney ride possibly ever)  Ready for Mater's Jamboree  Trip to Downtown Disney Lego store  We were the first people to arrive at Adventure Land-We love when the park is so empty, too bad it does not last very long but we were able to go on all the main rides several times in the first 2 hours.  Gotta get my rice crispy turkey leg The next day we were some of the first people at Tomorrow Land-rare picture with no people in Tomorrow Land. We had to celebrate George's birthday a few days early since we will be gone in CA during his birthday. We took him on a river float trip down the Skagit River. We had amazing weather and it was just beautiful. Washington is one of the most beautiful places, at least there is some pay off for all that rain we get. What a goof!

Fourth of July here is crazy since fireworks are not banned. We are allowed to light off basically any kind of firework-even ones that launch 100 feet in the air. This year George's niece Maria and her friend came to our house to celebrate and they brought A LOT of fireworks, which made Jake really happy.  We went camping that weekend at Lake Chelan-we had fun rowing our boat. I forgot to take more pictures. In May I got this brand new pool from a garage sale for $20. We love it! Yesterday we had to drain it because it was seriously lopsided and the water was overflowing on one side, so we need to get this issue fixed so we can enjoy our pool again.

We have accomplished quite a lot in the 2 weeks of summer break. I have repainted Jenna's bedroom, Jenna has had a movie party, Jake has gone on lots of bike rides, had water fights and Nerf wars with friends, we've gone to Ikea for meatballs, gone miniature golfing, completed a difficult puzzle, I've read 2 books, set up our new little pool and done some yard work. Jenna's new room-I did all the painting and cut and installing the chair rail.  I got this brand new pool from a garage sale for $20-it took quite awhile to set up and by the time I finished it started raining and has rained since, so no one has gotten to use it. We tried growing new grass a month ago but the birds and other critters ate most of the seed so we did not have much luck with it-today I picked up a few pieces of sod and still need to get some more.
